Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Podcast Cleaner application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Podcast Cleaner is an iOS application that removes filler words (such as um, uh, uhm, erm, ah, hmm and stutters) and dead-air silence from spoken-word audio recordings. You import an audio file or record in the App; your audio is transcribed and analyzed to propose cuts; you review and toggle every proposed cut in a transcript; and the App renders a cleaned file, which is returned to your device to save or share. Features include in-app recording, audio file import, a reviewable per-cut transcript, an A/B before/after comparison, a free transcript with every clean, and (on Premium) an aggressive mode that also targets discourse markers like "like" and "you know."

Cleaning requires a short cloud round-trip: your audio is uploaded to our processing service for transcription and detection, then results are returned to your device. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what is uploaded, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.

2. Important Limitations

Podcast Cleaner is an editing assistant, not a guaranteed or automatic result. You understand and agree that:

• Filler and pause detection is AI-assisted and may miss some fillers or flag words you want to keep. You review and approve every cut before rendering — the final edit is the one you confirm.
• The App is designed for spoken-word audio (monologue, interviews, narration). Results on music, singing, or heavily overlapping speech may be poor.
• Detection accuracy depends on the original recording's clarity, noise floor, accent, and audio quality.
• Rendered cuts remove segments of your audio; you are responsible for reviewing the result before publishing. Keep your original files.
• The App is not a replacement for professional audio engineering or studio post-production.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and only on audio you have the right to process. You agree not to:

• Process recordings of other people without their knowledge or consent where required by law
• Use the App to deceptively alter recordings in a way that misrepresents what a person said
• Attempt to circumvent free-tier limits, usage metering, or subscription restrictions
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its backend services
• Upload unlawful content or use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free tier: No charge. 2 cleaning jobs, input files up to 10 minutes, the first 5 minutes of each file exported, and MP3 export — with full review of every cut and free, unlimited re-renders of your cleaned jobs.
• Premium Monthly: $9.99/month. Up to 12 hours of cleaning per month, input files up to 2 hours, full-length exports, lossless WAV/FLAC export, transcript export (TXT/SRT), aggressive mode, and unlimited history.
• Premium Annual: $49.99/year (save 58% vs. monthly), including a 7-day free trial. Same Premium feature set as monthly.
• Prices shown in the App reflect your local App Store storefront and may differ from the figures above. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• If you start the annual free trial and cancel before it ends, you will not be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers retain their price for the remainder of the active term.

5. User Content

You retain all rights to the audio you import, record, and produce with the App. We claim no ownership over your recordings, cleaned files, or transcripts. We process your audio only to provide the cleaning service and delete it on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train machine-learning models.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute the App's software or the models it relies on.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT DETECTION WILL IDENTIFY EVERY FILLER OR PAUSE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR A SPECIFIC RECORDING.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Decisions made based on a cleaned recording (publication, broadcast, distribution)
• Cuts that removed or retained audio contrary to your intent, where you had the opportunity to review them before rendering
• Loss of original recordings due to user error or device failure
• Interruption or unavailability of the cloud processing service
• Subscription-related charges that fall under Apple's billing policy

9. Service Availability

Cleaning depends on our cloud processing service and your internet connection. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, or impose usage limits, to maintain reliability. We are not liable for temporary unavailability.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, including any audio you process and distribute.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App or its backend at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
